Welcome to Pimpernel Cottage

A beautifully restored Grade 2 listed brick and flint fisherman’s cottage in the heart of the small North Norfolk coastal village of Blakeney. It boasts one excellent-sized bedroom, with seating area for those lazy mornings, essential for unwinding after the exertions of modern life, and a bright open-plan ground floor.

Restored in 2009 to a very high standard the cottage contains many original features with Victorian fireplace surround, wooden floors and vintage doors throughout. The cottage has been decorated using traditional paints and retains its cottage feel whilst containing the essential modern items for 21st century living.

Your comfort is our main aim, so we have filled the cottage with books and games that can be enjoyed in front of the wood burner in the winter or in the small communal courtyard, locally known as a loke, in the summer. There is a DVD player and an iPod docking station so that you can enjoy your films and music.

Pimpernel Cottage makes an ideal base to explore North Norfolk, Nelson’s county. It is adjacent to the Coastal path, less than 100 metres from Blakeney Quay and within walking distance of Cley marshes with its abundant birdlife. We happily accommodate dogs and there are many fantastic walks locally. Fantastic beaches, beautiful and historic National Trust and English Heritage attractions abound in the area and Pensthorpe, for many years home to BBC’s Springwatch is a short drive away. All these attractions together with welcoming local pubs and restaurants serving excellent fare make Blakeney a superb location.

So whether you are searching for a bird watching bonanza, a dog walking adventure, discovering Norfolk’s rich heritage, enjoying a leisurely weekend exploring the surrounding market towns and their wonderful hospitality, or simply want a cosy, romantic break, then Pimpernel Cottage is for you.

We are proud to offer you high standard self-catering accommodation in the heart of this beautiful coastal village and look forward to welcoming you to our cottage.

We are so pleased to be able to announce that Pimpernel Cottage has now played host to its first wedding! Reading through our visitors book is always a pleasure but when we read the entry from Sarah and Tony we were thrilled. “We came here in 2009 and fell in love with the cottage, everything [...]

  • Pimpernel’s Cottage Garden looks great this August

We have just returned home from a wonderful week in Pimpernel Cottage. The weather was not perfect for August but it didn’t stop us having fun. Visits to Byfords in Holt for chocolate cake and pots of tea, crabbing on Blakeney Quay and walking Willow, our black Labrador, on the beach. I am never happier [...]
